Wellness Doesn’t Have to Look Like Green Juice & Yoga Pants
Wellness Doesn’t Have to Look Like Green Juice & Yoga Pants
The wellness industry often promotes a narrow and unrealistic vision of what “healthy” looks like. But here’s the truth: wellness is not aesthetic. It’s not about skinny bodies, expensive routines, or restrictive diets. It’s about being in harmony with yourself—spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically.
Black women deserve wellness that affirms our lived experiences. That means:
- Walking with your cousin in your neighborhood while you vent
- Singing your favorite gospel song in the shower
- Cooking food that nourishes your body and feeds your soul
- Laughing deeply with your girls until you cry
You define what wellness looks like for you. It might not be green juice. It might be greens and cornbread. What matters is how it makes you feel—aligned, cared for, and whole.
